Virtual Training vs "FREE" In-Person Training - What is the actual cost?

These days virtual training is more than just sitting back watching a video on a screen! Live, virtual broadcasts are designed for today’s adult learners. By actively engaging the students to participate in real-time lectures and breakout room group activities, the majority of students write in their evaluations “this is the best training course I’ve had”.  This is a totally different experience from a traditional in-person class and they especially love the interaction with colleagues from around the country.

Not only do virtual courses have the advantage mentioned above, they are also cost effective.  In most states, if you are within 150 miles, you can attend a free in-person class if you drive.  But even though there is no tuition to take the class, there can be many other expenses; travel, lodging, meals, and incidentals. Using national per diem and mileage reimbursement rates, you can see below a free class may cost significantly more than a live virtual course.
