449 ICS Train the Trainer- Virtual

This course is intended to prepare participants to deliver ICS 100, 200, 300, 400 and 402 courses and the 191. Participants will not be teaching ICS in this course, rather they will demonstrate their instructional capabilities and their ability to construct and deliver a short-notice informational presentation. These unit level presentations will focus on three primary elements:

• Most critical teaching points of the lesson/unit

• Potential questions and/or discussion points that the students may have

• Suggestions for enhancing and tailoring the lesson/unit to the audience.

All participants should have verifiable experience in adult education / instruction. Participants who have a working knowledge of ICS through experience and training, and have experience delivering adult training. Participants must have worked as IC, command or general staff positions on incidents, planned events or exercises that were active for multiple operational periods or involved a written action plan and involved multiagency coordination.

Course Length: 40 hours

Course Timeline: Monday thru Friday- 8 to 5 PM Mountain Time

Registration Information: Note to Course Attendees: The course is delivered using an online platform.

Prerequisite: To attend this course, participants must:

1. Have a working knowledge of ICS through experience and training, and have experience delivering adult training.

2. Complete all course pre-requisites: Required—ICS-100, ICS-200, ICS-300, ICS-400, IS-700, and IS-800. NOTE: Participants must have taken the Emergency Management Institute, U.S. Department of Agriculture, National Fire Academy, or National Wildfire Coordinating Group ICS courses. Other ICS courses must be consistent with the ICS objectives prescribed by the NIMS Integration Center.

3. Participants must have worked as IC, command or general staff positions on incidents, planned events or exercises that went longer than one operational period or involved a written action plan and involved multiagency coordination. Those course participants who have not completed the course requirements will not be allowed to attend the course. 

4. By purchasing this course the student is put into our que for attendance. The que is based on a first come first serve basis. Additional steps will be to complete the  qualification package and submittal process and be accepted based on the State of Colorado criterion. Students who purchase the course but are not accepted into the course will be eligible for a refund.

From 01/13/21/to 01/23/21 will be the  pre-registration period to allow students to prepare packages. AFTER PAYING FOR THE COURSE YOU WILL RECEIVE AN EMAIL WITH  INSTRUCTIONS ON THE QUALIFICATION PACKAGE SUBMITTAL PROCESS.

In addition to the base curriculum for 449 this course will specifically address tips and best practices for conducting virtual ICS courses with presenters from the most active virtual training and exercise company in the U.S.

All Blue Cell instructors are State Certified. Participants are welcomed from outside Colorado. Consult with your States Training Officer for any additional application or certification requirements. Colorado participants will be given priority.
